A position as postdoctoral researcher (2-3 years) or a PhD scholarship (3 years) is available at the Centre for Ice and Climate, a Danish National Research Foundation Centre of Excellence located at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen. The position is a part of the project RiskChange led by Peter Ditlevsen. The main objective of this project is to assess the possible changes in extreme climate and weather conditions as a consequence of climate change. This involves investigating and developing tools to use the relationship between local extremes and large-scale climatic fields, which are projected in climate scenario simulations for the future. -We seek good candidates with strong skills in mathematical statistics, atmospheric science and/or climate modelling. -To be eligible for the postdoc position, the applicant should have a PhD degree in physics, mathematics, geophysics or another relevant field. -Applicants for the PhD scholarship should preferably have a MSc degree in physics, mathematics, geophysics or another relevant field.
