Multimedia Lab (MMLab) is a research group within Ghent University (Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Electronics and Information Systems). This lab has a wide range of activities, including fundamental/basic research, applied research, and contract-based research with over a 100 industrial partners. Internationally, MMLab is active in European projects and standardization committees. In addition, MMLab is doing scientific consultancy for both industrial and governmental partners and is one of the founding research groups of the IBBT. To strengthen its activities within the area of Web-based multimedia applications and services, MMLab is currently recruiting motivated researchers. You get the possibility to obtain a PhD degree in a creative environment and to collaborate with leading national and international ICT companies and research groups (both national and international).

You have a Master’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics or Mathematics. You have an in-depth knowledge of one or more computer languages (Java or C++) and you are highly proficient in English (both written and oral -having a recent TOEFL test result is a plus). You are willing to participate in applied and fundamental research projects in the area of multimedia applications and systems.
