The Scholarship was established in 2008 and is funded by Vicki St John. The main purpose of the Scholarship is to provide funding for Maori and Pacific Island postgraduate students at The University of Auckland Business School.

-The Scholarship will be awarded to a postgraduate student who has paid the fees, or arranged to pay the fees, for part-time or full-time enrolment in any postgraduate programme offered by the Business School. -The Scholarship is tenable by a Maori or Pacific Island student who is a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident of new Zealand. -Recipients must be able to provide evidence of their Maori or Pacific Island descent. -The basis of selection will be academic merit and potential to succeed in postgraduate study. -Strong leadership potential in school, community, profession or business, and a demonstrated commitment to community service will also be taken into consideration by the Selection committee. Preference may be given to students who can demonstrate financial need.
