2013-2014 Fulbright Visiting Research Chairs Program

Canada-U.S. Fulbright Visiting Research Chairs enable promising and prominent Canadian scholars, as well as experienced professionals to conduct research, develop collaborations, guest lecture and/or teach at select American universities and research centres, normally for one semester, though this may be extended to a full academic year. In addition, successful candidates will have the opportunity to deliver public lectures, give seminar presentations, participate in conferences and otherwise contribute to ongoing research activities at the host institution.

All Canadian applicants to the traditional scholars program must meet all of the eligibility requirements enumerated in eligibility section of this site. More specifically, eligible candidates must be Canadian citizens (landed immigrant or permanent resident status is not acceptable) at the time of the application, who have not had significant recent experience in the United States. Further, they can not be dual citizens of both Canada and the United States, they can not presently reside in the United States. Individuals may not have held more than one previous Fulbright scholar award.
