The Scholarship was established in 2009 and is funded by Harmos Horton Lusk Limited. The main purpose of the Scholarship is to encourage postgraduate study in Commercial Law.The Scholarship will be awarded to a student who has paid the fees, or arranged to pay the fees, for full-time enrolment in the Master of Laws degree (LLM) specialising in Commercial Law. Students enrolling in either a taught or a research Masters degree are eligible to apply. The basis of selection will be demonstrated or potential academic merit assessed by a grade point average for entry to the LLM programme of not less than 6.000, potential to contribute to the legal profession and financial need. In the event that there is more than one candidate of equal merit, preference will be given to the candidate enrolled in a research LLM.

The Scholarship is tenable by a student who is a citizen or permanent resident of New Zealand. Part-time students will be paid on a pro-rata basis.The Scholarship will be awarded to a student who has paid the fees, or arranged to pay the fees, for full-time enrolment in the Master of Laws degree (LLM) specialising in Commercial Law. Students enrolling in either a taught or a research Masters degree are eligible to apply.
