The Department of Astrophysics at Radboud University Nijmegen (Netherlands) invites applications for a postdoctoral position to work in the area of accreting compact objects. You will work with Dr Elmar Koerding on the coupling between accretion flows and jet formation. You will use theoretical methods and observational multi-wavelength data. The project will focus on establishing empirical connections between jets and accretion flows in black hole binaries, neutron stars and white dwarfs as well as their astrophysical interpretation. Depending on your preference, the project can either be theoretically oriented or observationally driven.- A PhD in Physics or Astronomy; – preferably, you have experience in radio and/or X-ray astronomy and in the astrophysics of black holes and/or accreting white dwarf binaries; – a good command of written and spoken English is expected.
