The Faculty of Natural and Environmental Sciences. Academic Unit of Chemistry has a two-year Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in microfluidic magnetic resonance (NMR) of cells in the research group of Dr. Marcel Utz. The project concerns the development of new integrated microfluidic platforms for the culture and metabolomic observation of cells using hyperpolarized NMR spectroscopy. The postdoctoral position involves the design, fabrication, and application of instrumentation for achieving the project aims. The postdoctoral researcher will also participate in the novel NMR and MRI experiments and help develop new research ideas and applications. The position is initially for 1 year with the possibility of a further extension for 1 year.
-You must have a PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related field of Engineering, and have experience in the design, fabrication, and operation of microfluidic systems, as well as spectroscopic techniques. -Experience of NMR techniques and the underlying theory is desirable. -Experience of operating an NMR spectrometer is desirable, as well as prior experience with cell culture and related laboratory techniques.
