The College invites applications for Roosevelt Scholarships from well-qualified British and Canadian candidates who will be studying at the University of Cambridge for the MPhil degree in matters relevant to Anglo-American relations. Successful candidates will have satisfied the provisional requirements of the Board of Graduate Studies of the University of Cambridge and have been accepted for registration on one of its post-graduate programmes, most probably in the Department of Politics and International Studies (POLIS).It should be noted that University and College fees and other costs are set yearly and are subject to an annual increase, which may be substantial. At the present time, these increases are of the order of 5% per annum. Canadian applicants liable to pay University Fees at the overseas rate will be expected to apply for Overseas Student Bursaries awarded by the University of Cambridge and organised by the Cambridge Trusts and the University of Cambridge. The College will endeavour to offer rented accommodation in or near College to a single Scholar. For couples, our accommodation stock is very restricted but we will help if we can do so. Successful applicants will be expected to provide a brief report on their time in Cambridge, to be submitted within three months of the completion of their course.
Candidates must have graduated at a University before 1 October 2013. Consideration will normally be restricted to those who have a record of academic excellence consistent with the proposed field of study and who can demonstrate the potential to make a significant contribution to the broader life of Magdalene College, as well as to the wider interests of the Atlantic Studies Programme at the University of Cambridge.
