You will perform this challenging research project at the Biomolecular Chemistry laboratory and will collaborate with researchers from the University of Edinburgh, the University of Maastricht and the Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre. Your research involves RNA protein interaction studies, recombinant DNA technologies, cell culture, next-generation sequencing and immunological techniques. What we have to offer We offer you: – employment: 1,0 fte; – in addition to the salary: an 8% holiday allowance and an 8.3% end-of-year bonus; – the gross starting salary amounts to € 2,042 per month based on full-time employment, and will increase to € 2,612 (P-scale) per month in the fourth year; – duration of the contract: 4 years; – you will be appointed for an initial period of 18 months, after a possitive elaluation your contract will be extended with 2.5 years; – you will be classified as a PhD student (promovendus) in the Dutch university job-ranking system (UFO).
You should have a Master’s degree in biochemistry / molecular biology / molecular life sciences or equivalent. Experience with RNA and protein chemical technologies and a strong affinity with fundamental research related to clinical problems is desired. You enjoy independent research, display a well-structured working style and are highly motivated to succeed in scientific research. Good communication skills in English (oral and written) are essential.
