Department of Botany at Stockholm University is offering doctoral position in plant physiology in Sweden. Students must hold master’s degree in biology or biotechnology with good communication skills. The PhD study should be completed within four years of full time study and will be financed by the Department of Botany at Stockholm University (2 years of doctoral grant and 2 years of employment). Applicants need to send their letter to Department of Ecological, Environmental and Plant Sciences no later than February 28, 2013.. This PhD-project will be one of two PhD-projects within the group’s research on the molecular basis of nitrogen-fixing root nodule symbioses. Comparative analysis of actinorhizal symbioses entered by plants from different phylogenetic subgroups has led to the conclusion that nodule metabolism as well as the mechanism of stable intracellular accommodation in actinorhizal Cucurbitales is different from that in other groups studied so far.. This scholarship is available for pursuing PhD degree level.
