· The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences has a strategic ambition of being a leading research faculty. Candidates for these fellowships will be selected in accordance with this, and expected to be in the upper segment of their class with respect to academic credentials.
· The candidate must have a PhD or other corresponding education equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree in mechanics, physics, mathematics, or related fields.
· A strong background in mechanics and physics is required. Solid programming skills are a prerequisite, and the successful candidate should have extensive experience with numerical solutions of the Navier
· Stokes or related equations of fluid dynamics.
· Moreover, experience in one or more of the following topics will be positively valued: Development of mathematical or numerical models for submarine landslides or avalanches, Experience with water wave models for tsunami applications, Numerical methods for conservation laws for hyperbolic systems and Modelling flow of granular materials

Benefits of the scholarship:  Pay Grade: 57 – 65  (NOK 473 400 – 548 700 per year, depending on qualifications and seniority).
