The Department of Biology (Chair of Biochemical Pharmacology/Prof. Dr. Thomas Brunner) is seeking a highly-qualified and motivated applicant for a full time postdoctoral position. This position is open for a research project, probably starting in January 2014 and initially supported for 36 months. Applicant must have a strong practical and theoretical background and experience in protein biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology and/or apoptosis signaling is required. Application deadline is 1 October 2013.. The project is part of a larger trinational research consortium and investigates the dynamics and importance of Bcl-2 family interactions during apoptotic cell death in liver cells and liver tumors. Candidates will be actively involved in this research project investigating the dynamic formation of Bcl-2 family member protein complexes using precipitation experiments and proteomics. She/he investigates signal transduction pathways regulating Bcl-2 family interactions. Furthermore, she/she supports the chair in teaching and student supervision.. This position is open for postdoctoral research program.

Who can apply to this scholarship?
· Candidates are expected to hold a PhD in Biology or similar education, preferentially with several years of experience.
