Applications are invited for the post of a Research Assistant in the group of Dr Ana Cvejic. The post, which is funded by Cancer Research UK is available for the period of three years in the first instance and may, subject to the availability of funding, be renewed for a further period or periods.The number and characteristics of each type of blood cells are frequently used in clinical practice and deviations outside the normal ranges can be indicative of a wide array of blood pathologies. It is becoming increasingly clear that genetic changes acquired throughout life play an important role in initiation of blood disorders including blood cancers.

The work will involve a number of molecular biology techniques, cell biology techniques, live imaging and maintenance of zebrafish transgenic lines. The group is based at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute.
