RSM Bird Cameron offers regional scholarship program for Year 12 students planning to undertake a business or commerce degree, majoring in accounting at Curtin University, University of Western Australia, Edith Cowan University, Murdoch University or University of Notre Dame. There are three regional scholarships available to the amount of $7000. The students of Australia can apply for these scholarships. The application deadline is 1 November 2013.. Three scholarships are on offer for regional Year 12 students planning to undertake a business or commerce degree, majoring in accounting. Scholarship winners will also have the opportunity to gain practical experience through paid employment during their university breaks. RSM Bird Cameron is one of the largest nationally owned accounting firms and is a firm of choice for emerging and fast-growing businesses. Since its establishment in 1922, RSM Bird Cameron has had a strong regional presence in WA and is a firm believer in developing local accounting talent..  Scholarships are available for pursuing a degree program at Curtin University, University of Western Australia, Edith Cowan University, Murdoch University or University of Notre Dame.
The research areas of this scholarship are:  Scholarships are provided into a Commerce or Business degree with an accounting major.
Who can apply to this scholarship? To be eligible to apply you must:
· Be in your final year of secondary studies.
· Be intending to enroll on a full time basis into a Commerce or Business degree in 2014 or 2015 with an accounting major at Curtin University, University of Western Australia, Edith Cowan University, Murdoch University, or University of Notre Dame and meet the entrance requirements.
· Normally reside in an area at least 100 km away from Perth.
· The first step of the recruitment process is to complete the application form which can be accessed using the Apply link on the right hand side. You will also need to obtain a one page written reference from your school principal outlining why you should receive the scholarship and attach it with the application.
Benefits of the scholarship:  There are three regional scholarships available to the amount of $7000. Winners will receive: -$2000 to be paid at the start of each semester during the first year of study; -Up to $500 will also be available each semester towards the costs of books; -Paid employment to gain practical experience during university breaks and the opportunity to be fully immersed in life inside an accounting firm including the day-to-day work activities as well as the social opportunities; -Ability to work with a diverse range of clients in the local area; and -Networking opportunities within the industry.
